Adding colors to cakes is exciting, however, we tell most of our Brides and Grooms to remember trends are time-sensitive and tradition lasts forever. One is not better than the other and nowadays, there are themed Weddings from using personal themes that mean something special to the couple and then again, there are traditional cakes. Ana Paz believes that incorporating the Old with the New is the new trend. She says, “White is back and a Wedding Cake can look modern with new ways to make white stand out!”

“Colors are also stylish, yet can be even more meaningful for traditional weddings depending from where in the world you come from,”Ana adds.

White with a row of Gems like Silver-backed or Gold-backed rhinestones are commonly used and are non-edible. Most Fondant cakes which are different colors are edible, even when they are Silver or Gold tiered and adds that little “wow” factor to an otherwise, simple cake.

A hint of color is great for flowers and if it a deep shade it can be darker in the center of the flower and then have it dissipate as the flower petals move outward making the transition seamless and more sophisticated.

Here are only a few samples of Trends. We have thousands of photos of cakes, yet we find Brides and Grooms usually have something in mind already. As Ana points out, “We mix and match from our own photo albums with the couples’ ideas and come up with a design which ends up being their “dream cake.” Also, Wedding Toppers really influence the overall design of the cake, so we have to take that into account, as well, even before we begin.”
